Hampton Roads Crossing Pipeline

Location: Norfolk, Virginia

Michael Baker International served as the prime engineering consultant responsible for route selection, permitting, survey/mapping, geotechnical, corrosion design, engineering, construction document development, right-of-way acquisition, public outreach and construction management for the proposed 21-mile, 24-inch natural gas pipeline connecting Virginia Natural Gas’ (VNG) northern and southern non-contiguous systems. The system is separated by the Hampton Roads Harbor and Elizabeth River. The project included approximately 12-15 horizontal direction drill (HDD) crossings ranging from 1,000 linear feet to 7,300 linear feet in length across the Hampton Roads Harbor.
