Marcellus and Utica Shale Services

Location: PA, WV, OH and surrounding states

From multiple offices in Penn, W.V., Ohio and surrounding states, Michael Baker International is delivering high-quality, cost-effective engineering services to the Marcellus and Utica Shale industry. These services include the design and permitting of access roads, well pads, impoundments, gathering and midstream pipelines, water lines, railroad spurs, erosion and sediment control plans, storm water management systems, Highway Occupancy Permits (HOPs), road maintenance plans, geotechnical engineering and remediation, and waste water management.

Additional services address client solutions for wetlands mitigation, stream-crossing encroachments, and impacts to sensitive ecological resources such as threatened and endangered species. Michael Baker, for instance, provides surveying, mapping, CAD and GIS technical support services for a challenging project to design a system of more than 100 gathering pipelines totaling nearly 200 miles to connect wells, compressor stations and processing plants. The team also provides programmatic site design and permitting services for some of the region’s largest producers, helping to ensure that their aggressive schedules are met in a cost-effective, compliant, and environmentally safe manner. From a staff of more than 160 construction personnel, Michael Baker provides road management construction inspection services on hundreds of miles of roadway in support of major producers, giving assurance to the client, state transportation officials and local officials that the work is being performed within the parameters of the jurisdictional body.
