Michael Baker International was the project landscape architect and civil engineer for the design and construction of the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, a LEED® Gold-certified 226-room, five-star hotel with residential units, retail space, an underground parking garage, and a public street-level garden area. Services included precise grading design for the hotel and gardens area; design of new sewer, water, and storm drain systems; and tentative and final mapping for the proposed development. As landscape architect, Michael Baker prepared final construction documents for the garden and podium areas and hardscapes, including the extensive use of stone paving and wall veneers, planting and irrigation. Construction documents for the one-acre public garden built on top of a parking structure included natural stone pavers, concrete walkways, fountains, planting and irrigation installed on a roof deck. The team also prepared construction documents for a motor court, interior roof garden and gardens for a swimming pool and spa.
