Naval Training Center Redevelopment

Location: San Diego, California

Under contract to the developer, Corky McMillin Companies, Michael Baker International was responsible for the design of $130 Million in infrastructure improvements associated with the 360-acre Liberty Station redevelopment project on a former San Diego Navy base. Michael Baker’s role included civil, water and traffic engineering, land surveying, site development, mapping, structural evaluations, street improvements, water/wastewater, surface water, hazardous materials surveys and abatement and a deconstruction plan. Early planning assistance was provided to the Navy with preparation of a feasibility study, conceptual site plan and major graphics presentation for the reuse of approximately 120 acres for family housing at the Naval Training Center.
