FEMA Community Engagement and Risk Communication Contract

Nationwide

Michael Baker, in partnership with Ogilvy, is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) contract.

FEMA has undertaken a long-term effort to better identify, quantify and communicate flood hazards and risks and promote mitigation actions nationwide through implementation of the Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (Risk MAP) program. An integral component of the Risk MAP program is to improve communication of risk to community officials and other key stakeholders.

The CERC contract assists FEMA by collaborating with state and local entities to increase awareness and understanding of flood risks, recognize the value of flood hazard mapping and encourage citizens and communities to take action to mitigate the risk of, and the damages that result from, flood events.

Michael Baker is providing risk communication and mitigation planning services to help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
